Ran out of peanut butter yesterday. So since I love peanut butter and hazelnuts I decided to make some nut-butter by my self – out of hazelnuts :-)

Here is my recipe on hazelnut butter – and I actually do think, it is a bit healthier than the ones you can buy. It is only 3 ingredients – easy easy! I love it!

What you need
Half a jar
1 cup hazelnuts
2 tsp. cane sugar (or just sugar)
1 tsp. nut oil (or other oil with neutral taste)
How to do
Roast the hazelnuts in a preheated oven on 200 degrees Celsius for approx. 6 minutes. Just till they smell a bit and the shell turn into “flakes”. Remove the shell which nearly comes off by it self.
Put the warm hazelnuts in a food processor and add the sugar. Blend on high until it turns “liquid”. If necessary add the oil. It might take some time for the nuts to turn into “butter”, but be patient – it will work. You will maybe have to scrape the “butter” down from the “walls” in the food processor once or twice.
